Simulator features

From the industry, for the industry.

Built on more than 45 years of combined experience in oil and gas and emergency management, and developed in-house, the simulator recreates how a real emergency is commanded, so your people are ready to perform in a real event.

Audited and approved by OPITO as part of Poseidon Training's approval as an OPITO Approved Centre for MEMIR 7228, OIMCE 7025 and CROER 9004.

Training providers using the simulator to deliver OPITO products need their own OPITO centre approval.

Scenario library
More than 100 built-in scenarios with lesson plans, by asset type, and scenarios built from your own lesson plans.
Type A, B and C
Readily controllable, escalating and full evacuation, each covering threat to life, to the environment, and to plant and equipment.
OIMCE incident range
Well control, explosion and fire, unignited hydrocarbon or toxic gas release, accommodation fire, helicopter incident, pipeline incident, collision or wave damage, loss of stability, and foundation failure (jack-ups).
Security threats

Specified equipment
Emergency response plan, safety case information, company procedures, permits, audible and visual alarms, telephones, radios and PA, information boards, background noise and distractions, and general arrangement plans.
Remote delivery
To the OPITO software requirements: learners can talk to every participant at all times, PA, telephone and radio are clearly identifiable, and all information updates in real time.

02

Facilitator control and delivery

Launch process
Installation, scenario, permits, weather and controls set before the scenario starts.
Live control
Inject events, apply manual overrides and share documents as the scenario runs.
Timers
Session clock, scenario timers, response time-outs, and arrival times for helicopters and vessels.
Practice scenarios
Automated events, so your team can practise on its own.
